Drowned City
Exibition consists of photo & video based work presenting the devastation of an entire Serbian city of Obrenovac during the flood, of almost, biblical proportions that struck Balkans region in May 2014. |

Predrag Vukosavljevic is a young director focusing on documentary film. In May 2014 he created a documentary “Obrenovac 1003” filmed on location during the flood. For this film he received “Zlatna buklija” (Golden Flask) for excellence in TV and journalist expression at the 2015 International Festival of Documentary Films in Velika Plana, Serbia. Predrag also directed and produced another documentary “Boy Jugoslav” a dramatic life story of a boy who suffers from a rare illness of brittle bones – Osteogenesis Imperfecta. Predrag takes great interest in working with children.
He holds film production workshops for elementary school kids in Obrenovac. The short movie “Snap” was recently included in the official selection of the International Festival of Short Films in Valencia, Spain. Predrag also works for the Obrenovac RTV MAG. Lilly Otasevic was born in Obrenovac, Serbia. She studied Graphic Design at the School of Industrial Design in Belgrade, and studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade. Lilly moved to Canada in 1994, and since then has exhibited in Canada, USA and Middle East. Over the years she has worked on various projects as an art director, industrial designer, interior designer, website developer and most recently as an independent curator. Even though a trained painter Otasevic’s main body of work consists of sculptural work. Vesna Aleksic is a renowned Serbian children’s writer. Ever since she started writing in 1987 she has been the recipient of numerous literary awards in Serbia among them the “Politikin zabavnik” award for best children’s novel in 2008, award of “Matica srpska” for the best novel in 1999. In 2004. - for her contribution to contemporary expression and writing for youth - Vesna was the recipient of “Zmajeva nagrada” one of the most prestigious literary awards in Serbia. She is the author of many dramas and monodramas for children and one monodrama for adults. In 2013. Vesna received an award “Sigridrug” for her monodrama “My First Bicycle”. She lives and works in Obrenovac, Serbia.

Julijana Tisma lives and works in Obrenovac, Serbia. She works with children at the elementary school “Jovan Jovanovic Zmaj” as a dental technician.
Mara Stamatovski has practiced the art of painting since her early youth. She professes the ease of the painters trade and the unpretentious gift of becoming an artist wherever and whenever she can. In her case, paintings are not always bound to the canvas nor limited by frames; actually, her paintings are married to objects and pieces of furniture, becoming an integral part of a closet, glass showcases and chests, dressing tables and many other things. Mara designs, handcrafts and paints unique pieces of furniture, continuing the Serbian tradition of painted furniture. She lives and works in Obrenovac. http://www.kreativnaradionica.com
Jasmina Prodanovic completed her Marketing studies at the Faculty of Economics in Belgrade, Serbia in 1997. She was a member of FIPRESCI Serbia at numerous film festivals in Serbia. For 12 years, Jasmina was the creator and producer of the cultural and information broadcast “Short Cuts” (film) and “Turn the new leaf” (literature and publishing) for Radio Obrenovac. In 2008, she was the correspondent for radio “Index” from the 33. Toronto International Film Festival. Jasmina worked as a journalist for RTV B92, and “Obrenovac Chronicle”. She is a member of the Independent Journalist Association of Serbia (NUNS). Presently, she is writing for web portal “Istinomer” (www.istinomer.rs) Jasmina lives and works in Obrenovac and Belgrade.
Miroslav Bogdanovic has worked in a production team and as a writer and journalist on documentary films “Boy Jugoslav” and “Obrenovac 1003”. For years he had acting roles as a member of drama group “Corner” at the Theater SKC Obrenovac, Serbia. He contributed to magazines such as “Third Eye” and “Sport”, Novosti, Belgrade, Serbia. He also worked as a music consultant and one of the editors of radio shows “Hit me” and “Sikter” at radio Obrenovac. He lives and works in Obrenovac.
